In order for you to waste less canvas you should commit your idea to paper before you try and commit it to canvas and Elie Hirschfeld. The paper drawing will be slightly different from the results you will get from the canvas version but you can get an idea of what you need to add or take away before you start putting it on canvas. Paper is forgiving and canvas is not.
